Fertility and Pregnancy Counseling Options:

Trying to Conceive:

Increasing numbers of couples are having difficulty conceiving a child naturally. Studies have shown that proper nutrition plays a very important role in reproductive health. Eating habits, weight, or certain conditions (such as PCOS) could be causing these ever growing rates of infertility.  Luckily, infertility has been reversed in many couples using nutrition alone! Nutrition counseling can guide you to change your eating habits and achieve pregnancy.

After Conception:

The initial weeks and months after conception are key to proper development of vital organs and the nervous system. Unfortunately, many mothers are confused about what to eat and there is very little information offered to families from their OB's. Eating to properly nourish your growing baby is a great way to get a fresh start on healthy eating.

During Pregnancy:

Pregnancy is a joyous time and when properly nourished many women feel great their entire pregnancy. Nutritional deficiencies can lead to some not-so-joyous ailments such as morning sickness, low energy, constipation or heartburn. Some dietary modification can help you cope with these common problems so that your pregnancy is a more comfortable experience.

Gestational diabetes, excessive weight gain, and preeclampsia are very real problems that can have some serious consequences. Proper nutrition can prevent and eliminate these issues and should be dealt with in a timely manner.

Optimizing diet during pregnancy helps bring you to a healthy delivery, and has lasting effects on the health of both mom and baby.

Post-Partum:

Losing pregnancy weight seems to be the biggest issue with women post-baby. Losing weight too quickly can lead to problems too, like inadequate milk supply and nutritional deficiencies in the mother and baby. Weight loss should be gradual and the most attention should be paid to nutritional needs in order to build your body back up after delivery and to properly nourish your growing baby. Nutrition guidance will help you to lose the weight without depleting your nutritional stores.

Baby's First Foods:

Everyone has advice on what babies first foods should be. The information out there can be very confusing. I can help you simplify your babies needs. Everything from making your own baby food to treating and preventing food allergies. The foods you choose now will lay the foundation for healthy eating patterns and influence long-term health for you and your baby.
